Dental clinic phones and VoIP
Dental clinic phones and VoIP in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary
When the phone rings, patients should reach you. We’re an Ooma and RingCentral reseller, and we also service dental specific phone systems such as Mango and Weave, all looked after alongside the network and computers we already know.
Can Benson Hunt look after our clinic phones?
Yes. We’re an Ooma and RingCentral reseller, and we also service dental specific VoIP such as Mango and Weave. VoIP just means phone calls over your internet connection instead of an old phone line. The phones share your network, cabling and internet, so it helps to have one team looking after all of it.
Who we work with, and how we’re paid
We sell Ooma and RingCentral service and look after it for your clinic, and we also service Mango and Weave. To be upfront: when we resell a service, we earn a margin on it. We recommend what fits your clinic, and we’ll tell you why.
Ooma
We’re a reseller. We sell it, set it up with your network and look after it.
RingCentral
We’re a reseller here too, with the same local team to call.
Mango and Weave
Dental specific VoIP. We service these, so one team can look after the phones and the network.
Why phones belong with your IT
A phone problem is often a network problem in disguise. When one team looks after the phones, network and computers, you make one call instead of three.
One team to call
Phones, network and computers are looked after together, so problems get fixed faster.
Planned with the cabling
In a new or renovated clinic, we can plan where phones sit at the front desk and in the back office while the walls are still open.
Local people on site
Our Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary teams can come to your clinic when a phone or a cable needs hands.
What we talk through with you
Every clinic is a little different, so we start with a short conversation. These are the questions we usually ask.
- How many phones do you need, and where do they sit?
- What should happen when the internet goes down?
- Do you want to keep your current phone number?
- Who answers after hours, and how do patients reach someone?
- Does the new phone setup fit the network we already have?
Phone support in your city
Our Vancouver team works from an office on Seymour St. Our Edmonton team comes to your clinic, and the Edmonton address we list is for mail only. Our Calgary IT specialists are local, with no walk-in office, so we come to you. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm MT, and our emergency line is answered 24/7 by a person. We also serve clinics in Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Delta and Langley, in St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Morinville and Whitecourt near Edmonton, and in Airdrie and Cochrane near Calgary.
How the work is priced
Phone work is quoted with your project, separately from monthly support. See our support plans for what monthly support includes. Ask for an assessment and we’ll go through the numbers in writing.
Why it matters, in plain words
The tech behind this page, and why it’s there. See all the plain guides.
Business firewall
Why the internet company’s router isn’t a firewall
It connects you. A business firewall inspects traffic, stops known attacks and keeps guests off the clinic’s network.
DNS filtering
Why a bad link can fail before the page loads
Every web visit starts with a lookup. Known bad sites are blocked right there, in the office and on laptops.
Multi-factor sign in
Why a stolen password shouldn’t open the clinic’s email
Passwords leak. A second check on a phone or a security key stops most stolen passwords from working.
Dental phone questions
What is VoIP?
VoIP means voice over internet protocol. In plain words, your phone calls travel over the internet instead of an old phone line.
Do you earn money when you resell phone service?
Yes. When we resell Ooma or RingCentral, we earn a margin. We recommend what fits your clinic, and we’ll tell you why before you decide.
Can you plan phones for a new clinic?
Yes. Phones are best planned with the cabling, before the walls close. See new dental clinic IT setup.
